I gave you a follow on strava. Just copped it was you.

Just over half way to 100. Iā€™m finding forcing myself to make at least every second run a slow one means I havenā€™t picked up any jiggly injuries yet.

Is Strava free? Should I move from Map My Fitness to join the clique?

As an aside, I ran 1.4km more than @Thomas_Brady today.

Free as a bird. You can upgrade to premium but basic is more than sufficient.

First niggly injury for a while, a strained heel? Iā€™m serious. The same ankle can be stiff as fuck in the morning. This is like an extension of it. Iā€™ve something like 11km left on the weekly goal but itā€™s a step too far, need to rest it.

Harvard researchers analyzed data from 1,104 healthy firefighters, average age 40, who did not have cardiovascular disease. Each man performed as many push-ups as possible in one minute. The men also had treadmill tests to measure their cardiovascular health and aerobic fitness. After 10 years, the researchers found that the men who had originally performed the most push-ups were least likely to get heart disease.

Specifically, those who could do 40 or more push-ups had a 96% lower risk than those who could only do 10 or fewer push-ups. The men who could do at least 11 push-ups had a lower risk too, but the more they could do, the greater the benefit.

The men who scored the highest on the treadmill test also had a low risk of heart disease, but the researchers found that push-up capacity was just as accurate a predictor.

Iā€™d be tempted to say most men under 50 should be able to do 20-25 push-ups in a minute but if you donā€™t use it you lose it quickly.

I can do 10 in 15 seconds

I just managed to linky suunto to my Strava there today. Iā€™ve to try and get the suunto working now.

So what they are trying to say here is that after 10 years of research theyā€™ve found that fit people are less likely to have heart problems than unfit people.

Thank God we have our best minds looking into these things.

I fucked up my back last January and again at the start of lockdown 1. I then went on a being a cripple/eating/drinking/no exercise plan. It had the expected effect. I did massages and physio for it and it helped a little but then I bought a BackBaller online for 60 quid. Essentially a fancy foam roller. Its fucking fantastic. My back issue is still there but way more manageable and I can even ā€˜runā€™ now. Itā€™s one of the best purchases Iā€™ve ever made. Do it. Itā€™s only 60quid. And youā€™re helping less fortunate folk in Klare by buying it.

Interesting. Donā€™t think thereā€™s much structurally wrong with my back, just stiffness from inactivity and four months working from bed.

Deadlifts mate. Sin e. Do them properly and theyā€™ll fix your back

I did 40 in a minute during lockdown 1.0 just because a lad I dont like in work was blowing about doing it. It honestly sickened me not to get 41.

Iā€™m really fat so if that was down to 25 now I wouldnā€™t be surprised

Just over the 50km now, but the elevation stats are poor this month @mac (around 900). Getting out to the hills has been tricky.

Found another new (to me) stretch of trails today, taking in about 3km of my route
