LOI 22/22

That is the Cross,
That’s what it was like when I was first there in the early 80s
St Colmans Park was a far better ‘stadium’ back then even though Cobh were MSL
Flower Lodge had a stand at least, there was some serious shitholes in LOI

Know

We had a little stand eventually
Lived in the South Douglas road at the time
Old man was chairman of the MFA then so dragged along to all games since 63 from memory

Missing tonight’s game bloody course in town finished late
Kids up there and stream is fairly decent quality
I’d take a point tonight

I was gone by 79 but I guess it didn’t change much
All were shitholes / mud slides but atmospheric and never to be repeated
Waterford Alfie Hale/ Peter Thomas etc we’re outstanding
My Celtic team at the time before they went out of football were stars
Paddy Shortt
Richard Brooks
Blondie Carroll
Bobby Tambling etc etc

Still worried tbh

Galway should be 2 down atm
Longford missed an open goal from 2 yards

Fuck me, it’s a Christmas miracle! A scalder and a lad from Belvedere Grove scoring for Wexford. Actual Wexford lads, must surely be a first.

The Blues are getting there season together. Have won 8 on the bounce now. Play away to Galway Friday night. If they were to manage to win that they have a great chance of snagging second.
