You saved that post somewhere didnât you?
Nope I searched for Jimmy Bullard because I saw he scored today but remember him leaving the pitch in tears a couple of months ago and it looked like his season was over. That came up in the results.
ah a great old thread.
Iâm liking Evertonâs chances of making the top 4 this season. Boyles will give you 7/1.
My reasoning is based on that I reckon they will have one of the best midfieldâs in the league. Felliani, Rodwell, Arteta, Pienaar, Cahill are a top quality five. Throw in the Russian geezer who had a decent first season Bily something and there arent many with better options. Jagielka missed most of last season but is as good as what is out there. Heitinga did well last season too. Yobo is alright. Baines, Neville will do a job.
Only worries are Howard in goal, Ive never rated him, and up front. Saha and Yakubu are consistently inconsistent but I think you will have a good run for your money at 7/1 anyway.
Should be an interesting season in the old EPL.
What do folks think of the EPL Handicap League. [Some obvious jokes to be made here]
Iâd fancy Sunderland, Blackburn and Bolton
Chelsea +0 points 16/1
Aston Villa +25 points 20/1
Newcastle +40 points 16/1
Man Utd +2 points 16/1
Sunderland +35 points 16/1
Bolton +41 points 14/1
Man City +8 points 16/1
Fulham +38 points 16/1
Wigan Athletic +44 points 16/1
Arsenal +9 points 16/1
Birmingham +39 points 16/1
Wolves +45 points 16/1
Liverpool +13 points 16/1
West Ham +40 points 16/1
West Brom +49 points 16/1
Tottenham +17 points 16/1
Blackburn +40 points 16/1
Blackpool +54 points 16/1
Everton +22 points 10/1
Stoke +40 points 16/1
Bolton, Wigan and United i fancy there.
i think genoa are a cracking bet for the copa- arguaby europes 2nd most entertaining team, without doubt a team that football fans everywhere will appreciate- the copa is a realistic targert
currently 29/1
29/1 for a reason. No small club has won it since 1997 would indicate it ainât likely.
genoa arent a small club
I should have said unsuccessful clubs so.
nah, genoa are a very successful club
nah, they are not.
One Cup win in the 30âs
Never won Serie A
An old club, the âGenoa Cricket and Football Clubâ won 9 titles at the turn of the 20th century alright.
But in modern times (back as far as the 30âs) they are very very unsuccessful.
quit reading pukepedia*- genoa has won 9 titles -
i find it odd that your cut off point between old & modern times is 31/12/29
*the dunph deserves a lot of credit for coming up with that tem
Baltimore Ravens e/w to win the Superbowl. Do it.
Whats a tem?
Anyway, i think you really can only judge a team back as far as any of their present players go, and even thats stretching it.
So i would say Genoa will not win the cup.
Tend to agree. Theyâve a reasonably settled side, reasonably deep squad and have some excellent players. Wouldâve thought theyâd be more than 7/1 though. I think this season could be more difficult than last for Spurs, Iâm kind of expecting City to flop and I think Liverpool will need a season under Woy before they can start making strides.
I think Blackburn are value under that handicap list. Horrible team but organised, physical, will disrupt other teams. Signs Allardyce was getting his âstyleâ really ingrained in them last year and I reckon theyâll come in 9th or thereabouts.
fuck you, they are a seeeerious outfit.
I hate those handicap league bet things. Way too many variables IMO. You have to study every team in the league to make the call really.
Rooney 8/13 to be leading Utd goalscorer this season. Shit odds I know but surely thats free money?
Also Blackpool 2/7 to be relegated-again a certainty?
Odds from PP.
I see Paddy Power are offering 7/4 on Clare to win the Hurling All-Ireland in the next 5 years
