I wouldn’t recommend a dud
Did u have to return any?
( just wondering about their returns policy etc, as some will promise the earth)
I don’t recall having to, no.
I’ve been recommended this portable P.C. type device
Anything wrong with it? Is it a load of 4 inch screens stitched together like an LG TV?
The SSD is small enough if you want to start crunching movies and the like. Other than Windows it doesn’t seem to have any software advertised whereas others I saw there had. So that could cost you extra depending on what you want to use it for.
I always found retail stores like Curry’s to be 6-12 months behind bigger online stores for latest models and best prices. I’m sure @Copper_pipe would know a good site. What was that one he directed us to last year?
I have an aversion to Hewlett Packard products.
I’d only be using for work really so only require enough processing speed for spreadsheets, VBA etc. Don’t care about gaming or video
Do work not give ye laptops?
They gave us chromebooks a year ago so didn’t feel like offering anymore freebies during lockdown.
Compared to this refurbished model from Dell, that’s a good price. Remember it has no software.
As mentioned it would be used almost exclusively for work where the required software is accessible through the VDI. So the bar is pretty low - something better than a Chromebook
With VBA and VDI I think you know more about this than me.
So the device I was looking at is now out of stock. Can anyone recommend a better deal than this for a laptop with 8gb of RAM
I don’t know much what’s what about laptops but copper recommended it to me and it works perfectly for what I want.
Lads. I have an old iPad for years. It must be about 9 years old (iPad 2 I think).
Anyway, the OS can’t be updated and I can’t update most apps. For long journeys (c. 3 hours down home) I used to stick a few tv shows on it for the little wan in case she gets antsy. She’s generally great at travelling but after about 2 hours, we feel we need to give her something to keep her entertained.
Was looking for a recommendation for a cheap enough tablet out there. Talking 100-150 range. There are a few Amazon jobs on the Currys website.
Samsung galaxy tab a7, cheap, current, expandable memory (SD card very handy for movies) and a monstrous battery. Turn it on and away you go
