I did not know this but makes perfect sense now…

Anyone up to date on Mad Men? Holy fook, the last two episodes have really seen some seismic events.
Really struggling to get my head around Peggy’s departure and also the fact that there was not mention of it this week. I’ve always seen her character and Draper’s character as the key players in the Mad Men story and Matthew Weiner has said it’s no coincidence that the show starts on Peggy’s first day at work.
Can’t say I was all that surprised by Lane’s exit, the story with the check all felt a bit rushed and it was almost like they had run out of ideas for his character and just wanted to get rid of him.
One episode left in this season, hopefully we won’t have to wait as long for the next season. Not expecting all that much from the finale, in previous seasons the major plot developments have all tended to occur in episode 11 and 12 rather than in 13.
One thing I have been disappointed by this season is that Draper seems to have lost his mojo in both his professional and personal life after getting married. Should be a lesson to the more career driven men among us.
I watched episode 9 last night. Looking forward to 10 and 11 in the next few nights even more now BT!!
Season 5 has been class.
Yeah watched it last night. I wasn’t expecting it to top the season finale of Game if Thrones but it came close.
I think we’re going to see Peggy grow as Don’s main rival at the other firm. Don’t is struggling to keep ahead of the game at his own firm with Ginsberg coming in as well and the lack of control he has over his personal life seems to be have taken away his aura of invincibility. We saw a little of that though with the presentation to the pharmaceutical company.
I liked the way that they handled the Lane storyline to be honest. He seemed to be in eternal conflict over his attempts to do the right and decent thing while he had to resort to more base means to get things accomplished - like Joan’s role in Jaguar and the way he forged the cheque.
Similar to Megan he seemed ill at ease playing the advertising game but happy when he actually accomplished something in it. Unlike Megan he lacked the ability to walk away from it thanks to making some very bad choices.
I’m expecting more twists next week for once. I find it difficult to believe that something won’t happen with the elevator shaft as well - it was far too obvious that the door opens while the elevator isn’t there from time to time.
I was expecting them to kill off Cooper but that’s hardly likely now. He might retire and sell his share of the company and that will lead to a nice little battle of the % share of the company that each of the partner secures. There will already be a bit of craic divvying up Lane’s 12.5%.
Outstanding episode, delighted with what they’ve done with all of the characters this season aside from Kinsey.
Back on Sunday night on AMC and I cannot fooking wait. Fingers crossed Draper gets back to his philandering ways.
Ah lovely
“What is happiness? It’s a moment before you need more happiness.”
Ah yes.
I bought series 5 and did not get a chance to look at it yet.
Only just finished series 3. Will Sky+ series 6 and buy series 4 & 5 on Apple TV.
Mrs Scrunchie gave up on it halfway through Series 2. Thought it too boring. It did waver a little but series 3 was v good.
Seems like an eternity since series 5 finished. Can’t wait for it to kick off again
Bring it on, can’t wait.
Ah FFS sake. This has left me seething:
Shooting in one go though so reduces the risk that Jon Hamm dies before they finish shooting. I do worry about that a lot.

Just in from work pal. Need to pack now.

Ah cock. They’re dragging the arse out of it a bit.
Hmmm on top of last season this is slightly unsettling news.
Good opener to the new season. I love Pete Campbell, can’t believe I ever disliked him.
Still think it’s cuntish to split the final season into 7 and 7 though. Hard to get excited about 7 episodes.
Best TV show ever in my book in terms of writing, character development
there are layers and layers to every episode
Nice little cameo from Neve Campbell as well.
Megan is clearly riding someone else as well - probably Campbell given the way he said he’d been meaning to drop by to see her.
