Micky Adams linked with Villa this morning.
Rumoured that Martinez has turned down Liverpool.
That would be three former European Cup winners he has turned down - Glasgow Celtic while at Swansea, Villa last summer and now it seems Liverpool
Martinez is obviously holding out for Albion.
Claudio Ranieri is the new manager of Monaco.
Are they in the second division still?
They are. Finished a lowly 8th too.
I believe so
:strokechin: :strokechin:
Who could believe that he would choose Monaco over the West midlands of England
Paul Lambert was mentioned in the thread opening post all those years ago. I can now exclusively reveal he will be the next Aston Villa manager.
The process, however, will be protracted as Norwich are seething and will make things difficult in terms of releasing him and agreeing compensation.
But a source of mine in East Anglia has confirmed that Lambert tonight told Norwich he intends to take the Villa job.
Any reason he threw such a strop when asked about the job position last week?
Great call Bandage, Lambert has walked out on the Norwich post in the last 20 mins after Norwich failed to give him permission to speak to Villa about tacking the job.

Grant Holt knew the score.
Wouldn’t be one bit surprised if Norwich are relegated next season if Lambert leaves
I’ll be putting a lot of money on that. A squad filled with British journeymen, most of whom never played top flight football before or only had minimal experience of it.
Lambert is some man for walking out all the same. Walked out on Colchester to go to Norwich shortly after they had hammered Norwich 7-1.
Apparently Norwich have not accepted Lamberts resignation :strokechin:
Just means they want their one years compo. Lambert had been given permission to talk to Villa which he did last week. He was due a second interview today when McNally pulled the plug last night he had broken their agreement so Lambert said he was out and Norwich would not have got a penny for him. Norwich failed to accept the resignation allowing him to join Villa so they would get their money and save face.
lambert has a mixed record- a woeful flop in scotland
Decent record with small clubs so should be ok with Birmingham villa
