Di Canio’s admiration for Mussolini is tempered by his own criticism of the fascist leader. Di Canio has stated that some of Mussolini’s decisions were vile. It seems that the new manager of Sunderland would like to cherry pick the ‘good’ fascism from the ‘bad’ one, personally I think it was all bad but I can see where he’s coming from.
Di Canio has always distanced himself from the racist elements of the New Right. His weekly column in the corriere della sera ridiculed racists.
I don’t agree with Di Canio’s politics but I admire the passion and integrity of the man much more than I do that cunt Miliband who is trying to make political capital out Di Canio’s appointment by resigning from Sunderland’s board.
I wish him well.

He’s managing a football club. Why the furore about his political beliefs? The paper talk of racism is a bit disgraceful. I’m not sure his appointment will work out for Sunderland but some of the sensationalism is way over the top. Why no similar circus when appointed Swindon manager.
No football exists outside the EPL for the red tops mate.
Sunderland statement saying pdc is not a racist. Kinda funny. A bit like father ted saying he’s not a racist.
pdc racism is well documented on this forum. Expect to see some of it on show at the next Premier League fixture.
