Very difficult to get that system to work if you don’t have 3 central defenders to be fair. Masterstroke from LVG to plan this with the window still open. Expect Vidal, Blind and another CB to be signed before the window slams shut.

I’ve found three at the back to be a bit strange too, if only because our centre backs are shit and the fewer of them that play the better as far as I’m concerned. I expect he’ll stick with it though.

Losing in the Milk Cup to Mk Dons is not the end of the world. You learn more from defeats and Louis will know who is surplus to requirements. Welbeck and Hernandez were shocking. Not the end of the world I agree but at the same time a club of Man U’s stature should be able to field it’s 3rd team and expect it to compete with any 3rd division outfit.
