This week, Marca revealed De Jongās contract details. His deal runs until 2026 and there are four more years in which the Spanish giants are due to pay him ā¬88.7 million in salary and loyalty bonuses.
Next season, the Dutchman is due to receive ā¬18 million of fixed salary, plus ā¬2.88 million as part of his loyalty bonus. Add-ons are excluded. Looking to the 2023-2024 season, his wages could rise to ā¬28 million.
Those increasing figures are explained by the agreement Barcelona and De Jong reached in 2020 to defer part of his salary to partially offset the financial impact of COVID-19.

My sources have confirmed that he said no to Utd when he thought PSG or Real would come in and pay him more, or at least pay him the same.
