He was a great signing - United knew the writing was on the wall with Ronaldo and got a replacement in first who was very important for the club, if they waited until after they sold Ronaldo theyâd have been rinsed in the market, they got a proven Premier League player who won 2 league titles at the club for 10-15 mil less than they would have got him for 12 months later.

By 2010 Rooney was the central striker and excellent.
They famous game with Bayern in 2010 was Carrick, fletcher and darron Gibson with Nani and Valencia outside and an electric Rooney up top.
