Manchester United 2024-2025

That’s the figure. And he hiding in the back seat of his car. He should be walking out like the big dog after watching Limerick walking over Tipp in Semple

I’ll be buying ten of them. And a new shirt with the name of each new player the new manager brings in for 50 mill. It’s the least any united fan can do.

They dropped the ball & missed out on Tuchel. It’s either Villas-Boas 2.0 or Southgate

It’s grand. Your man Ruben has been practicing aptitude tests online for months now

Ah lads…

Ruud Van Nistelrooy deleted a social media post of himself with “black face” just hours after being appointed Manchester United’s interim manager.

An 11-year-old image, which showed the former prolific striker posing dressed as a king with black makeup, had been reshared thousands of times after he replaced Erik ten Hag on a temporary basis.

However, after Telegraph Sport inquired with United whether he was planning to remove the post, the image had disappeared on X by 4pm.

Van Nistelrooy is adored at United for his five-year spell as a free-scoring forward, but he has only previously managed at senior level for one season.

Pictures of him in black make up had prompted headlines in 2013, long before his return to the club over the summer. He had been taking part in the Parade of the Three Kings in Marbella, Spain, dressed up as Middle Eastern king Balthazar.

Wearing black face make-up is deemed far more offensive in the UK than it is in his native Holland, where fans are regularly pictured in black face at international tournaments.

The stunt had been for a charity function. Along with the two other “Kings”, Van Nistelrooy visited a hospital where he gave gifts to staff and handed out sweets to children.

He posted several photos of his costume at the time, writing: “In hospital with presents for the young and old.”

However, many social media accounts took offence at the time, with betting website Paddy Power declaring: “Ruud Van Nistelrooy thought he was doing a good deed by visiting a hospital but he didn’t think this one through…”

Balthazar is traditionally portrayed as a black man in historical texts. In Spain, Three Kings’ Day is an annual post-festive celebration, held every January.

Dutch cultural norms, meanwhile, are a regular source of debate, with Christmas character Zwarte [Black] Piet still present despite associations with the colonial era.
