You’re ignoring the fact that Arne Slot had 6 weeks of a pre season to prepare for the new season.
Amorim didn’t get a full squad session until Thursday last week.
I would expect the term “a long time” to imply more than simply not having the advantage of a six-week pre-season.

The negativity is off the wall with so many journalists. It’s incredible.
But that’s because this has never existed in the sport of football before. A club with huge history, tradition of success, massive fan base who is also one of the biggest spenders in world football not even remotely coming close to even contending for the champions league or their domestic league for over ten years. There isn’t even any remotely close example. There’s bound to be a lot of negativity

Its been a long long time since they went 11 years as poor as united have been not even contending for their own title and certainly weren’t spending as much money when they did.
