Manchester United 2024-2025

Based on what? He picked Casemiro and Eriksen in midfield

He has a handy gig tbf. Can experiment in the league and pull off the odd morale boosting win over top half sides and have a good dart at the Diddy cups

Amorim’s best move is to insure the place to the hilt, buy a few jerry cans of petrol and then torch old trafford and carrington, with the players in situ. It literally can’t be saved.
As for that rashford imbecilic narcissist. Ready for a new challenge? Ready for a toe up the hole.

He doesn’t own the stadium @glenshane.

I don’t believe arson and murder is the correct path for him.

He’s only in the door mid-season and was handed a woeful team. The main gripe must be that he’s not tightened them up to stop the rot but has left em open.
Selection wise he always had to chop and change to see what he had.

He hasn’t helped himself but this mess isn’t on Amorim

I think it’s too early to judge, turning them around is a mammoth task, many before him have failed including proven world class managers. It doesn’t help that the owners seem to be intent on alienating everyone and creating a toxic environment. That’s the root of the problem and if that doesn’t change then it’s very hard to see Amorim being successful.

Man Utd. were probably the biggest benefactors of the Sky Sports era. A huge influx of cash coupled with the right man to drive them to unprecedented success. That success brought about a shift in identity to global superclub with immense expectations. They need to resurrect that family club mentality and reset expectations. Hard to see that happening under the current ownership

Nobody. He didn’t try a leg. It was fantastic to see.
Sir Dave can’t jiffy bag his way out of this one.
Fire a few more tea ladies and make the staff pay for their own uniforms is next.
I had a good long chat with a club ambassador at my cousin’s party at Christmas. He had some interesting things to say.

Have look at what organisation the Liverpool founder was a member of before you go sneering Manchester Uniteds supposed connections with Rangers  #KingOverPope

The good news for Manchester United supporters is that exactly half way through the season they’re still on target for 44 points - if one were to assume that they will maintain the points trajectory of the first 19 games.

But scratch below the surface and things are more worrying.

The bad news is that 15 of their current 22 point total was obtained under other managers than the one they have now.

Ruben Amorim is currently averaging 0.87 points per game. If that was averaged out over a full season, Manchester United would finish on just 33 points from 38 games.

However Coach Ten Hag and to a lesser extent Coach van Nistelrooy had started the season by building up that cushion of 15 points from 11 games at a comparatively impressive 1.36 points per game. It could be that cushion that yet saves United from relegation.

Amorim’s first game was the 12th league game of the season, meaning if he lasts until the end of the season he’ll have managed for 27 games. 27 x 0.87 = 23.49 points.

Add 23.49 to 15 and you get 38.49 points. That’s under the magic 40.

On reflection, maybe not even that impressive cushion built up under Coaches Ten Hag and Van Nistelrooy will be enough to avoid a repeat of 1974 and Denis Law’s infamous backheel which condemned the great man’s former club to the second division.

Everytime you think this just can’t get any worse, it does. It’s glorious.
