I think De Gea over complicated the spot kick. He tried to do a Juan Mara or Bruno Fernandes and change direction at the last minute but didnât have the dexterity to do it all in one movement. Instead he looked like a giraffe trying to kick the ball and telegraphed what way he was going with one limb moving at a time. Even the Villareal players were celebrating before the shot reached the goal.

I see the Lancashire Senior Cup is actually still in existence, with Manchester United last taking the trophy in 2013 with a famous derby win over Manchester City in the final, and all the bragging rights that go with it.
