Manchester United Football Club 20/21

I watched it from early in the 2nd half onwards. It was a very poor and low quality match. Man U with all their dazzling array of very expensively assembled attacking talent essentially just froze on the night. They were like rabbits caught in headlights. The loss of Harry Maguire was incalculable in a team otherwise devoid of leaders. You just donā€™t replace Officer Class like that.

deary me

Lindelof is such a weak link.

Villarreal set up brilliantly to stifle Utd. The onlybthing I would have like to see from Ole was Van de Beek coming on instead of Fred with a shift to three at the back. He could have run between the lines and moved things a little at least.

Might have happened if they were behind.

Pau Torres is class.

Albiol was the best on show last night by a mile. Great fella for pau Torres to learn off.

Iā€™d say Albiol and Parejo were the real standouts.

Parejo strolled around the field and done more damage with 3 or 4 passes than McTominay and pogba/penandes all night.

Oozed class

People laughed at the Arsenal result but no one gave Villarreal the credit they deserved for stifling two PL opponents with deeper squads.

Unai deserves huge credit for the way he set up his team.

Coudnā€™t believe Ole persisted with Rashford, he was a donkey.

Southgate surely wonā€™t bring him to the Euros with his current form?

You tried manfully on boards.ie to point out the seedy underbelly of the fan base but they didnā€™t want to hear it.

Football fans are scum to a man.

Manyoo maybe more issues than I thought. Bruno a diving moaney cunt, very suspect big game temperament. Central defence and midfield shambles, no craft anywhere. Total reliance on pace and the"swashbuckling United way" whatever the fuck that is. Rashford declinya major worry. As for Ole, fucking hell

Iā€™m currently banned for 2 months so cant swing back for some vindication.

I think they have very limited players at the back and up top.

Tbf McTominay was their best player last night. Iā€™d love to see what Conte could do for that United team though.

I think heā€™d want to throw out all their defensive options though, heā€™d likely want to got 3-5-2 with the players they have there and guys like Maguire/Lindelof/Bailly would not instill much confidence. Wam Bissaka doesnā€™t have enough football in him to play as a wing back but could do a job in a back three.

They will sure sack Ole though? For the money put into that team they are so poor, have such a lack of identity and are also incredibly boring to watch.

I think this says it all. Him and Shaw seemed to be the only ones giving it a go, and both are somewhat limited.

A 35-year old was the best player on the pitch

Cavani was good too but heā€™s a 30 something past his best.

Shawsie was a force of nature last night. Whats his contract situation like I wonder.

Agreed, itā€™s an issue at this level when McTominay is your best player

Iā€™m liking this lad more the more I see him. Not a tremendously gifted ball player by any means but he knows this and his role and goes like a fucker all day long. Heā€™ll boot a few better players than himself around the place this summer.

Heā€™s like Phil Jones with some balance.
