Yeah that season Chelsea finished 10th was an anomaly caused by a rift in the camp. They won the title either side of it. Conte never achieved much in European competitions with either Juve or Chelsea which tarnishes his record.

Klopp took over a club that had finished in the Top 5 just once in the previous 6 seasons. They were in 10th place in the table when he took over and finished on a lowly 62 points the season before he took over. In his first full season at the helm in 2016/17 Klopp secured a Top 4 finish and European Cup qualification, something he has done in every full season at the helm. The resurgence of Liverpool from the doldrums under Coach Klopp is really eating you up and destroying your life. It can’t be good for your health and well being.

Conte took over one of the elite coterie of super franchises in the EPL era. Chelsea have been and continue to be the most successful in England over the last 15 years since the 2004/05 season.

That team then lost the world-class Luis Suarez who Rodgers never adequately replaced. Gerrard had left within 12 months along with Sterling. Daniel Sturridge never the same again because of injuries. Liverpool were in the doldrums when Klopp arrived.

Liverpool went almost 9 years without playing a knockout Champions League tie between April 2009 and February 2018. Klopp then went and reached the final of the competition two seasons in succession once he qualified for it. An incredible manager.

I don’t mind Klopp at all bar he comes across as a bit of German creep. Your inability to credit Claudio Ranieri and Antonio conte doing far better jobs in a much quicker times and not having to break the world transfer record on multiple occasions seems to really annoy you.

You are dinosaur.

What trophies did Moysie secure during his tenure at Everton that fuelled this revival? A team with Everton’s history should be competing for trophies. Did Moyes’ charges mount a title challenge to add to their 9 Division 1 titles?

Liverpool were within a whisker of winning the title in 2013/2014. Klopp broke the world record twice for signings and it took him 5 seasons to lift Liverpool from 5th to 1st. It was also an incredibly weak era for the premier league.

Incredibly weak era for the Premier League which consistently ranks in the top 2 of European coefficients alongside La Liga? Klopp masterminded a 97 point haul (more than Man United have ever accumulated) in a season where the Premier League provided both the Champions League and Europa League finalists. The 90’s, early 00’s and early 10’s were weaker era’s in the prem in many ways.

ouch

There’s been 2 decent teams in the league the past five years. Man united, arsenal and Chelsea have been a complete shambles. Getting a 100 points in the current league is no achievement.

You say Chelsea have been a shambles but in the past 5 years they have won 2 league titles and the Europa League. Man United have also spent heavily and won the Europa League in 2017. Outside of the period of 2005-2009 when the top 4 were in their pomp this era is one of the stronger of the Premier League.

The europa league is an awful standard.

Spending means nothing unless you buy correctly. Man united have either wasted money or over paid. Man united until recently have been am embarrassment. Chelsea have sacked four managers in the past five seasons.

Klopp took five years to deliver a title. You don’t get that sort of time in big clubs.

In the 90’s the Premier League was very weak and outside of Man United none of them made any real impact on the European stage. Titles could be acquired by ousting Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle. Last season was remarkable in that the Premier League provided all four European finalists and treble winners Man City weren’t even one of them.

Correct. Man united were pioneers in the 90s and dragged English football up single handily.

Obviously Liverpool Fans getting all the English clubs banned had a lot to do with the drop off.

So yes the Premier League was far weaker in the 90’s. Now there’s a big 6 plus even an outsider like Wolves look a decent bet to potentially even win the Europa League this season. English clubs dominated the European game in 2019. 4 quarter-finalists in the Champions League were English. Even Leicester reached the Quarter-finals in their maiden voyage in 2017.

They restored some respect alright.

There is no big 6. There’s two decent teams at the top and the rest are varying degrees of Being a shambles.

Chelsea, man united and arsenal are lite years away from where they were in the mid 00s.

I’d imagine this will be the first time in 20 years three teams won’t reach 70 points. 8 out of the last 10 seasons 4 teams have reached the 70 point mark. A very weak league.
