Manchester United Football Club Thread 2019/20

A quick Google tells me Martial an initial Ā£36m and James 15m (51m in total). Martial expected to rise into the 40s. Just clarifying that one for you bud.

Well itā€™s hard to work out exact transfer costs due to add ons. If you look at say rashford, James, lingard and martial that cost about 60 million pounds which is very little for a forward United given what the likes of Liverpool pay.

Sterling plays for Man City lad.

Closer to 90.

Sterling is the British currency but I will edit post to avoid any confusion

92m in fact according to a very quick Google.

Matic was Ā£40 million on his own. Player recruitment has been a complete shambles in recent years. Maguire started off well but has been brutal recently. No leadership whatsoever. If Lindelof wasnā€™t so poor beside him could make a strong case for dropping him. They gave Jones, Lingard and Mata new contracts this time last year when anyone with half a clue knew they should have been let go. Theyā€™ve been on about appointing a director of football for about 18 months and still no closer to doing it. Wouldnā€™t be surprised if thereā€™s no new signings in January.

No I donā€™t believe so. Pretty sure nearly every united player signed in the past two seasons is being reported as the fee paid up plus the value of the contract plus odd ons as opposed to just the fee paid up first. Itā€™s good to create a narrative for the simpletons to click on.

The signings under moyes lvg and Jose were a shambles. Mctominay, tuanzebe, Williams, rashford and greenwood will all be starters by the end of season and came through the youth academy. James was signed cheap too and de gea given he was signed nearly ten years was as well. You could nearly have seven of the starting team for maybe 60 million or less.

And be 10th

The whole thing is a shambles. Greenwood definitely has the potential and Rashford already established but no guarantess with the others. Youā€™re not going to be challenging for much if depending on McTominay. Great attitude but very limited. No point picking a load of academy players if theyā€™re not good enough.

Imo thereā€™s the makings of an extremely good side. Youā€™ll get natural progression from rashford, James, Greenwood, McTominay but we badly need to replace Shaw, matic and lingard with good players.

Liverpool are winning the league with Henderson in their team.

Ah Jesus, another loss ?? Ole will surely get the boot soonā€¦his squad cost the bones of a billion pounds and he cabt knock a tune out of them. Their cup final is coming up in a few weeks tho, beat Liverpool and heā€™ll get a 5 year extensionā€¦ Was the game any good?

Heā€™s after improving but take your point. Theyā€™ve no leaders and he keeps persisting with the likes of Lingard who barely got a kick tonight. United have no clue how to break down a team. Decent on the counter attack but thatā€™s not going to win you games every week.

Jose delivered more and was hounded out of the club by the fans, led by auld whiskey nose

The club will never make any progress as long as heā€™s getting the best car parking spot

No but when building a team from scratch itā€™s always easiest to set up a quick counter attacking style. It takes longer to build a team capable of breaking down teams. 10 points from 12 against the top four and destroyed Liverpool and were robbed of three points by the ref. Should be 12 from 12. Itā€™s bottom half clubs that are causing the issues but thatā€™s much easier fixed than beating the cannon fodder and getting thonked by the better teams.

No itā€™s not only one game plan. Counter attack. FFS this is supposed to be a big club

Iā€™m not saying it should be but with the players at the moment Iā€™m not surprised that it is. Mata and lingard arenā€™t up to it. You can argue OGS should have replaced these but heā€™s only had one window so far where he is the manger. Also by the time he was appointed full time last year it was even late enough. You wonā€™t really see his team until next season. Selling big rom and Sanchez has been brilliant. Time to take the hammer to midfield next.

Go way you simpleton - do you not know the difference between a squad, a team, pounds and euros?
