Manchester Utd 2023/24 (Part 1)

Wazza would certainly have the backing of the players. No more laps and chips back in the canteen

Shawzie likes this.

My sources say there will be a meeting between directors and INEOS in 2 weeks to discuss the plan now that INEOS have control of football operations.

With Everton in financial difficulties, a move for Jarrad Branthwaite is a possibility in the summer also.

2 weeks? Good they’re not in a rush anyway

Paul Scholes basically admitted to himself that he was a level below Gerrard and Lampard when he retired from international football at the age of 29. Albeit a few of that Man United team didn’t overly commit to their international teams. Keane and Giggs chief amongst them.

Real Madrid and Chelsea were absolutely desperate to sign Gerrard for most of his career. I can’t remember any other top club sniffing around Scholes. Speaks volumes really.

That’s great and all but Gerrard was a liability in big games, he won fuck all despite playing on some excellent teams. Liverpool and England improved post Gerrard, speaks volumes

If they can’t put tar or even a few sheets of galvanise on a roof what chance have they

Liverpool improved because they replaced Brendan Rodgers with Jurgen Klopp. Absolutely nothing to do with Gerrard. I’m sure Klopp would have loved a midfield player of his ability. England were beaten by Iceland in the tournament directly after Gerrard’s retirement. Dispensing with Roy Hodgson a clear reason for the upsurge since.

He was a caveman footballer who could strike a ball well. Awful defender due to woeful positional sense. A player with great PR who is quickly being forgotten.

Both Liverpool and England could replace him with less vaunted, yet ultimately more effective players who toed the line

He was a fantastic footballer that lacked game intelligence. Rafa got the best out of him but the stupid prick is too dense to realise it.

Klopp has one league title in ten years.Rodger’s would have won at least 3.

He’d have made an excellent right back.

Iconic

He played right-back in extra-time in a Champions League final mate and kept Serginho quiet. He started out as a RB too. Scholes by comparison couldn’t even tackle. Notoriously wreckless.

Yes Rodgers would win 3 league titles. But all of them would have been in Scotland. Liverpool pride themselves on European performances and Rodgers failed miserably there. He couldn’t even get out of a Champions League group containing Basel and Ludogorets. Reminiscent of Ten Hag this season with Copenhagen and Galatasary.

Liverpool must have no pride at all left so.

Utd fans still obsessed with Gerrard

The 6 months they hit upon having Mascherano and Alonso sitting in, Gerard in the free role playing off prime Torres. That was some powerhouse of a setup. The wingers were probably Pennant nd bloody Riise!

They chased a brilliant Man United team really hard with about 5 top players.
