Manchester Utd 2023/24 (Part 1)

Courtois had as big a howler as him in that match

The fans are done with the bald Fraud and want Moyeseh back

It seems absolutely crazy to claim a 1/4 billion has been wasted.

Mount is excellent.

Antony significantly improved the team.

Sancho has been better under ten hag.

You are caught out spoofing again.

I was at training for most of that alright. He saved Liverpool’s blushes on multiple occasions though. Even in the away leg he made some fabulous saves. He made the PFA team of the year in a down year for Liverpool.

Anthony scored 4 goals in the league last season. That’s in an era where wingers need to be scoring too. He got a couple in the Europa League against diddy teams but overall he was wake enough. Shrewd association football judges like @neilld also recognise that he’s extremely one footed which is very poor at the highest level.

They’d have been far better off spending less than half that money on Cody Gakpo who was their original target.

Gapko is crap.

Quarter of a billion spent and none of them good enough, of course it’s wasted. At various stages you have proclaimed about 20 of the squad as excellent or significantly improving the team, and yet you also decry the lack of investment. The performances tonight and Monday shows who is spoofing.

Gakpo contributed 7 league goals in half a season. Anthony scored 4 in the entirety. Gakpo had a much better World Cup too.

Antony is as strong as an ox. He is improving his weaker foot which is fair enough.

He will turn into a good player in time.

After two games last lads were saying ten hag should be sacked and man United wouldn’t finish top half.

And look what happened.

Except as a team man United improved with Antony.

Liverpool you can’t say the same with any of their signings.

A quarter of a billion for that trio. Yikes. Spurs haven’t been too hectic recruitment wise for a while either but in the last 12 months we’ve got Bissouma, Bentancur and Maddison for abkut a third of that, just under 90 million.

That’s a leap. United improved significantly by getting rid of Ronaldo, who lets face it was foisted on ogs by the fans and the board acting like six year old Rees-Moggs, by dropping Maguire, and by getting a tune out of casimero.

You are claiming they are wastes of money.

You are wrong.

I haven’t cried about lack of investment.

I pointed out the club has been running terribly for over a decade or so.

You simply won’t fix that in 12 or 18 months no matter what the investment is in reality.

You spoof on rugby.

You spoof on gaa

And now you are spoofing on football.

Liverpool looked good today in the ten minutes I saw.

Liverpool finished the season with a 12 game unbeaten run once Gakpo settled in. They definitely improved with him as a regular.

Man United were abysmal in the 2021/22 season so it wouldn’t be too hard for them to improve from that. It had far more to do with a Marcus Rashford resurgence than Anthony.

The Dutch experts were all urging Man Utd to sign Gakpo instead last summer.

While you aren’t wrong there I’d look at the improvements in the likes of wan bissaka and rashford as an example of real improvements.

Man United have the nucleus of a good team but they’ve no dept which is fair Enough at this stage.

The clear out continues but identifying the right signings isn’t easy.

Henderson, Maguire, mctominay and Martial will take the bones off 30 million off the club this year and none of them have much to offer.

That’s the real issue at the moment.

You could argue that rashford improved most significantly after a happy experience with the inglish national team, and actually flatlined later in the season.
Ten Haag has done the obvious in cutting Ronaldo and dropping Maguire, though despite his very best efforts, he’s not been able to sidle Harry out the door.
Mctominay would be a great buy for Leeds.

Rashford had a bit of a disaster of a World Cup?

The much maligned Wout weghoust would have had his uses today.

Rashford on the left Is simply a different player compared to up front.

Thank you brother, we are fact based accounts that deliver truth, no matter how difficult it is to accept😪

Agree re the position of rashford, but wieghirst is a donkey, let’s face it, and if he’s the answer it really is a bad sign. Rashfords best performances were in the periods after he’d been away. Southgate got him pointed right.
