The influence it has on society is not to be underestimated and it’s not a positive influence.
It’s amazing they didn’t seek to break up big tech companies much earlier. Oil and railway companies were broken up one hundred years when much smalller and with far less influence.
Changing the laws to make the companies publishers of content and liable for it would solve a lot.

Spoke with a facebook employee earlier today who was told her job is safe. Its fucking shit for them to just have a blanket statement that there will be job losses and they not knowing what is going on. Its also fucking shit that a company who posted a $46 billion profit last year is cutting jobs now.
