Many of the English papers have a regional football correspondent who doubles up on international breaks and covers one of our beloved āhome nationsā. Edwards covers the north east for the Telegraph but also works the Eire beat for them. He probably has a relationship with OāNeill due to the Sunderland connection and I recall him stoutly defending OāNeill a while back.
