Proper order
We love a good roundabout.
Speaking of which @ciarancareyshurlingarmy what the fuck are they doing to the roundabout in Mungret? They looked to be widening it but now they’ve put a kirb around the part they widened?
I had heard they were putting a cycle lane in there but surely not even our lads would put a cycle lane in the middle of the roundabout
Fuck knows at this stage. The new road from Mungret also looks to be very narrow.
It has been a mess there all weekend with the heavy rain. They have one week to get it sorted or the place will shutdown next Monday with school return. They did not work the weekend.
There mustn’t be a cone left in the depot
A few more in the GAA club alright for use in the big gig this coming weekend.
Not sure a roundabout is the solution to Bearys cross.
Putting a roundabout on the very busy main Limerick to Tip / Waterford road could create a traffic jam and inconvenience the majority in order to facilitate the small minority turning right.
How are the tickets selling?
It is all down to the weather Gods now. Met Eireann is encouraging so far
Thursday: Risk of rain along east coast in early morning, but brightening up, with mainly dry conditions. However, some scattered showers will occur, turning heavy and possibly prolonged in Atlantic coastal areas later, with a slight risk of thunder. Max. 17 to 20 C., in mostly light variable winds.
Friday: Quite cool and fresh, in mostly moderate southwesterly winds. Mostly cloudy also, with scattered shows, or possibly more persistent rain in places, especially in the northern half of the country. Some bright or sunny spells also.
Next weekend: Early indications are that there will be a good deal of dry weather, but a few scattered showers are likely and possibly some rain in eastern coastal areas later. Winds light and temperatures around normal, or a little below.
Maybe a little roundabout. Like the mickey mouse one in Adare?
Where is Bearys cross?
Rourkes cross is at the filling station outside Cville yeah? Absolute shambles of a spot if not going in a straight line!
Beary’s cross is on the Limerick Tipp road about 5 miles out of town. A T junction with a right turn up through Caherconlish and on to Mitchelstown eventually. Not as dangerous as Rourke’s cross.
That’s strange, I’d pass through Rourke’s cross quite a bit and never figured it to be unusually dangerous, is there sufficient traffic on the Bruff line to warrant a roundabout?
It’s grand if you are going the right way on it. Problem is coming onto it.
Getting from the Newcastle West Road across to the Kilmallock Road is the tricky part. There’s been enough serious accidents there over the years.
That whole stretch of road from the Cross back in towards Croom is deadly as well.
If only we had a motorway?
It’s a joke of a road. From mallow to Croom, and Adare to NCW are two of worst stretches in Munster. Adare out along ridiculously busy too. Always some clown taking a chance out there
It’s grand they’ve roadworks in buttevant at the minute which should help with the problem. They’ve been going on two years now so should be due to finish any day.
Did you give that fella a try in the end?
How’d this go mate?
