Would that money have gone direct to the salon?
My limited understanding is that nearly half the money goes to the voucher provider and the other half to the salon or whatever it is. They make money by selling in bulk and people never using them or by people purchasing other things or follow up services etc.
Presume so, after a nominal fee to the website advertising it.
