A propos Limerick pubs, I hear that Phil Flannery has died

Went to off the bone out by the south court this afternoon for dinner. Very impressed with the place and the food, surprised that more isn’t being made of the place. Decent day menu for €29 with generous enough portions. Something for everyone on the menu too.

You can order from the Indian restaurant in there as well.

Aren’t they knocking half of it now for new social housing apartments?

Ya they got planning lately. Half of it is full of refugees at the minute. It’s probably a much bigger hotel than is actually needed.

I didn’t think they were social housing?
They’ve done fair well to get planning for that many apartments on a tiny patch of land.

Sounds right. But I thought I read before that they had to be social. Or a high percentage social by law.

Perhaps attaching them to the existing hotel avoids that planning clause.

Think its 20% of any development over a certain size. Before a developer was able to buy his way out of it but thats been done away with.

City centre. Food recommendations lads this evening. Something relatively casual I suppose. Maybe with a burger and a mix of things on the menu. Is Coqbull any good these days? It’s years since I went in there.

Curraghower

Hadn’t thought of that actually. Good shout

Curragower is the correct answer.

The Glen does decent pub grub.

Or the Locke

Years since I was in there. Went on for an online booking. What’s the Glass Room? Is that the front part looking out to the majestic Shannon ?

The Chicken Hut

Went with Curragower pal. If I’ve enough pints, I’ll get a chicken hut later.

Good call, fine spot for grub.

Last time I ate there was during @Kyle’s stag and I was already fairly baloobas by the time I devoured a basin of chicken wings.
