Really? Itās a grand, wide reasonably untwisty road with plenty of hard shoulder from my memory of it. Maybe the wideness encourages lunatic manouevres a bit more as fellas think they are on a dual carriageway.

I think thatās the issue. I think itās a grand stretch of road but you do see a lot of lads overtaking but mostly keeping their own side of the white line.
Itās the driving more than the roads. There are a good few places where people turn across the road as well which is a disaster for such a busy road. Definitely the frustration of being stuck in traffic in either Adare or NCW contributes to the need to make progress IMO

Yeah now that you mention it I think there are a lot of places where the left turn has its own lane but the right turn doesnāt, which you wouldnāt expect on such a wide road.
My own take on it & that roadā¦.
- Tailgating is becoming common practice these days.
Add phones & speed into the mix then you get an increase in accidents.
Iām seeing the above daily. Tailgating is so dangerous and 90% of those doing it daily donāt realise that their reactions arenāt those of F1 drivers.
I think thatās it. Thereās a few hidden dips as well along the way. Plus lads driving up your hole. I also find the traffic coming into Adare from the NCW direction comes in at an awful speed at times, they donāt start slowing down until they get near the school. More noticeable in big lorries if you are leaving Adare slowly and they are tearing into the village from the NCW direction. Wasnāt there a bad accident years ago coming into Adare. Someone hit from behind by a truck? In the 90s, early 00s?
Body recovered from the river at Steamboat Quay this evening. Dreadful. RIP.
An article I just read on Leader said it was a false alarm?
Helicopter was going around there for ages. Very rare youd hear of someone getting out of there alive once they go in. RIP, hope the person is at peace.
