I found myself with a few hours to kill in Limerick today and in my wanderings I ambled past the museum by the peoplesā park. Now, if you were ever curious about Limerickās contribution to the British Empire look no further than this place, for the princely sum of a fiver.
The building is so weighed down with medals awarded by the crown to the good subjects of Limerick ( in recognition of acts of exemplary colonial subjugation) that itās surprising that it hasnāt slid down the road into the river.
Alot of other tat and shite collected over the years has been assembled here such as bits of Limerick lace, stuffed animals etc but itās probably worth the fiver. One of the more interesting exhibits is this collection of Frank McCourtās rosary beads.
Limerick is a cultural powerhouse.
