The grub in the locke is good
Fish Tacos are good.
Westward Ho
A little off the beaten track and maybe a leftfield shout, but the grub, and the range of it, in Limerick Golf Club in Ballyclough is top notch.
Papaz is a good shout for somewhere a bit like Cafe Rose.
That indian chicken pitta thing they do is unreal.
We went to Spitjacks. A friend of hers recommended it. I was hungry and it was raining so I didnāt put up any resistance.
It was somewhere between alright and decent
Itās a frustrating enough place. It looks nice, sounds nice on the menu, but itās just a bit bland when you get it I find.
Now itās doing well there and some people love it, so I might have been unlucky the few times I ate there
Overall the food options in Limerick are pretty bad. Has there ever been a Michelin star awarded to a Limerick restaurant? Wouldnāt say so.
The Texas stakeout
The place out in UL is on that Michelen level below a star, as is 1826 in Adare. JP bought a star for the Manor
The Paddocks?
So thats no stars.
Well itās one star.
Limerick is a working manās city. We want big feeds from the likes of Finneganās and Russellās. You can fuck off with two bits of carrots lying across each other with some sort of mismatching sauce that everyone has to pretend to like because they are paying ā¬200 for the privilege.
We want a roast dinner. And we want it piled high with mash and chips and with so much gravy on top that the dinner has no other flavour
Youād get some feed in Russells
The ādining in Limerickā thread on Boards.ie is a great testament to this. Iād say the most commonly appearing word there is āportionsā and God help any establishment that finds itself in any way miserly in this regard.
Your only codding yourself atein some fancy shite piled vertically so you can take a picture on Instagram
Youād be fit for nothing only the bed after it
Iād get it when Dundalk starts up on a Friday. You wouldnāt be able for many pints.
I was shocked at the number of obese people in Limerick, panting away pushing overloaded carts of junk food in the supermarkets. You may as well be in Texas.
Yeeeehaaaaw!
