I think it’s a decent idea, but the council need to run more events there themselves if they are going to justify closing the road. It’s completely empty most of the time I pass it.
Then if you are going to run events there what’s the point in having it in a part of the city with no bidnesses nearby who would benefit.
A neighbourhood street party or something like that would be good.
Or have say. Polish day. Where all the Polish people in the city come in and polish brass or whatever the fuck it is they do.

Ya it looks like an idea they came up with on the fly but it would be great if they could develop it into something proper. At least it shows that the Mayor can get stuff done if he wants to.
The nationality parties is a good idea, you should pass it onto him.
The idea is good but a bit of notice should have been given so that groups could organise something. I’d say the council couldn’t put on more events either as it seems like somebody just thought it up at the end of July.
It doesn’t really seem to be negatively affecting traffic so no harm done really.
