Matters Regarding Limerick 🏙️

Fact. Nothing in Dublin, Cork or Galway can touch off it.

I got the pudding potato cake, surf n turf and the cookie jar desert. Two pints of Carlsberg and an espresso martini. I was fit to burst

Fellas pretending they like ethic Vietnamese pho infused with some rare bean that only grows in Peru when they’d all actually prefer a big feed in there.

Embrace your inner roaster lads. It’ll set you free

An ethnic hipster meal or some haute cuisine ( when you will go to the chipper on way home) is all right on occasion but lads need to be true to their roots here .

Savage. Did you loosen the belt at any stage? I love sitting back for a minute close to the end, like it’s all over bar the shouting… Then open the belt and top button, and like a boxer climbing off the canvas, come roaring back to clear the plate.

Did the sommelier recommend a good bottle of plonk for herself?

The Steak Out is as consistent as it gets. Always solid fare and a proper feed.

Joel’s is probably the closest comparison I could make to it in Dublin but isn’t as good

She had 2 pornstar martinis and a further cocktail, the name of which I can’t remember as I wasn’t listening to her when she ordered it

I was chatting to a lad recently who was all about Joel’s. Said he got a “savage feed” there, which is an excellent review. It’s a bit out of the way for me but I must try it

Is the steakhouse the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Limerick city?

Up there I’d say. Is the Jasmin Palace still going?

Donkeys was king John’s favourite Friday pigout

It is. That’s a good shout. Internet says 1986! Steakhouse is 1989.

How long is the peony court going

Are you for real. Roaring and shouting about OIUTF for the last 4 months and all so you can hit for the Texas Steakout

This has to be a wind up

The Golden Grill is on the go 50 years and technically it is a restaurant, but I wouldn’t count it for these purposes. I’m excluding chipper style places even if they have seating, just because.
Having put some thought into it. I think the hiway might be the answer. Founded in 1970. Not sure if it closed for a while though a few years back? Thus ruling it out. I haven’t decided on the rules around continuity for my made up question
O’Connors on Thomas street opened in 1985 but closed a in Jan. Would have been a contender if the Hiway was disqualified

20 plus years and it looks every bit of it

The hiway has closed a couple of times. The mogul is going a long time.

The Hong Kong on William Street is around a long time.

I found Joel’s very underwhelming. Never went back.
