Tbf what can the community come forward about? Everybody knows, the Gardai and the community that it almost has to be someone in that family but unless they actually have some evidence coming forward it isn’t going to do anything

Murder happens in rural area where a well known local GAA figure is the suspect. Omerta from local community and you staunchly defend it.

The story seems to be that Joe Deacy was found in bed with a well known local GAA figure (whom he had known personally from their time in London) in the area by that persons father who proceeded to beat him to a pulp and dumped his outside the front of the house. The father was also heavily involved in the local club.

It seems everyone in the town seems to know who did it. The Guards seem to have completely botched the investigation either through incompetence or intent. The family in question seems to have a lot of sway or influence locally in the area as friends and family of Joe Deacy have made numerous allegations of intimidation and threats in their quest for justice. There are people out there who know something but have said nothing.
