Think the conditions wonāt suit us tonight given our young athletic team and the soft pitch.
Minute silence for Luis Aragones at Celtic Park.
Goal for Conan Grugan!!
Black card for Danny McBride.
Colm Cavanagh replaces him.
All Derry since the goal, 6 points on the spin.
Four points on the trot for Tyrone put them 1 up.
1-4 to 0-6.
Mattie Donnelly having a very poor game at full forward.
Tyrone started to come into the game near the end of the second half as Derry dominated the early stages. Even enough on the whole though Tyrone have been playing with a strong breeze. Tyroneās full back line has being left isolated but Iāve been very impressed with Tierney at corner back. Morgan, Tierney, Grugan and McCurry have been Tyroneās pick so far. McBride got a silly black card which wonāt help his case and PJ Lavery has had a poor first half, Donnelly also struggling at full forward.
Ronan OāNeill and Ryan McKenna on for Niall McKenna and Ronan McNabb at half time.
Darren McCurry is the best forward in Ireland right now.
McCurry goals for Tyrone.
Great save by Morgan there. Derry donāt deserve to be 5 points behind. Clarke struggling at full back.
Goal for Derry, two points separate the sides.
Tyrone team to play Mayo: N Morgan; A McCrory, C Clarke, B Tierney; C McGinley, P Harte, T McCann; C Cavanagh, C Grugan; E McKenna, S McGuigan, P Hughes; D McCurry, M Donnelly, R OāNeill.
The Mattie Donnelly and Darren McCurry strikeforce is going to be unstoppable this year. Two best forwards in Ireland right now you would imagine.
Conor Clarke has been much better at full back this week although he is marking that Moran fella who has the speed of a tortoise.
What a display of attacking football from Tyrone.
Yeah Donnelly is good but would he be better utilised out the field as opposed to full forward? Heās not your typical full forward in that heās very mobile etc.
Tyrone need a strong ball winner in the full forward line and it looks like Donnelly is the man to fill that void. Iād imagine we will be playing the two Cavanaghs and Grugan in the midfield area this year, Grugan has looked really impressive in the opening games and very similarly to the now retired Enda McGinley who has never really been replaced. Iād also like to see Peter Harte moved into the half forward line when Gormley comes back. Coney, OāNeill, McAliskey and Penrose are other strong options for the full forward line. If McCurry and Donnelly keep performing like they did today itās going to be very hard stop Tyrone, 2-08 from play between them.
