By the sounds of things weāre fucked here.
0-03 to 0-05. Wet and windy conditions, getting cleaned out of it in midfield and persisting with trying to hit the ball into midgets in the full forward line against a packed defence. Need to get McShane and McNulty on.
Tyrone hitting a massive amount of wides. Sean Cavanagh playing Meath on his own, Mattie Donnellyās name hasnāt been mentioned in the second half.
Peter Harte levels it.
Carthy describes it:
āA tremendous score from a tremendous player from a tremendous family.ā
Keoghan puts Meath back in front.
Penalty for Tyrone after Tiernan McCann was brought down.
Ronan McNabb with a point
Tyrone 1-06
Meath 0-07
Kevin Reilly with a point for Meath, game seems to have opened up.
Tyrone 1-06
Meath 0-08
Mark Bradley with a point for Tyrone.
Tyrone 1-07
Meath 0-08
Tiernan McCann makes it 1-08 to 0-08
Are you watching this nimby? If so how?
Fucking racing interrupting it!!!
Should be interesting to see some footage of that penalty.
I pray to God we get Tipp in the last round.
A Tyrone-Derry game seems like a feat not worth imagining!
Going by the radio commentary it seems we were much more purposeful in the second half with our attack, brought Cavanagh out and changed to a running game which won it for us. There was a big question of overcarrying for the penalty so we were probably blessed to get it though overcarrying is something that does not seemed to be called too much these days.
McHugh seemed to think Harte, Joe McMahon, Cavanagh and McCann were the difference for us. Mattie Donnelly sounded like he was totally anonymous.
Meath finally seemed to abandon their naive approach to football which they have shown in recent years.
McCann and Harte won it for Tyrone. Harte dug deep and McCann showed for everything. Meath just couldnāt get on the ball enough but they could have scored a goal at the end to win it.
Would like to see the penalty decision again. It wasnāt surprising that it was given but from where I was I it looked like he just ran in, barged and fell.
Dont think Tyrone will go much further.
Is it neutral grounds now?
Tipp are very very good. Kerry out huge work into preparing and then beating them.
The controversy of the 21 could edge a ref to tip things Tipps way as well. Not sure it would be a good draw.
Derry would be a great match I think. Both teams on a bit of a run. Thatās a huge hurdle mentally for Derry to put in a good performance in the qualifiers.
Think itās home and away. To be honest Iād love to see Tyrone get away from Omagh, itās a dump and our record there in recent Championship games is poor enough.
Tyrone really struggle when they have to break down defensive teams so if Tipp donāt adapt they are in trouble. Weāre not conceding much, 0-08 and 0-10 in our last two matches shows weāre very well organised in defence. Our attack is a big worry, seemed like a few players dragged us over the lines. McCann, Harte, Cavanagh seemed to be main guys mentioned.
I think always play better at Croke Park and on the firmed up pitches so hopefully we can avoid Derry in the next round and get to Croke Park where I think we can spring a few surprises this year.

Were you at the game? Heard Mark Bradley was class.
I can confirm I will be in attendance at the next weekās Ulster final. Looking forward to seeing the much vaunted Conor Glass is action in the minor game.
Yeah I went up. It was a bit like Terry Flanagans fight just there on Box Nation, I expected more from it.
Bradley got three points I think, scored one at the end which was a kick in the nuts for Meath, weather conditions didnāt help either team, still think McCann and Harte won the game though.
Onto Croke Park tomorrow, another stroll for the Dubs.

Yeah.
In taking the positives out of things, itās brilliant to see Petey Harte delivering the performances finally at senior level for Tyrone on a consistent basis, heās an immensely talented player but heās struggled to find a defined role in team up until now. Where was Mattie Donnelly operating? He has to be one of the most frustrating players in the country, goes from being the best player on the pitch in one game to being utterly anonymous in next. Heās not helped by being shopped round the pitch to plug gaps but youād still expect more from him. We need to fix him a position in the half forward line and then get him to deliver consistently. It also sounded like Joe McMahon had a big game for us in the second half.
Conor Clarke must be very badly off his game since coming back from surgery not to be getting a look in at present. Good to hear about McCannās peformance, a player Iāve always liked.
