Miguel receiving huge acclaim for his exposé of modern football, great to see
Hi Miguel.
Says the Joe Canning hater.
He’s a poor wum… Layabouts is the height of it. The same fella claims to have never worked a day in his life
The same fella harps on about JP too
@mickee321 is one of the foremost lamenters of the financial imbalance now prevalent in football and the decline of once great Eastern European clubs.
He loved a bit of communism, did @mickee321.
I don’t think anyone is saying that. I’d just be mindful that a border poll will need a few moderate unionists on board to be successful, and a massive section of them to be tolerant enough afterwards for peace to largely hold. Antagonising them is counter productive to republicanism. Noone dislikes the hard core unionists more than I do, I can assure you.
After the unfortunate episode with the teeth yesterday @Fagan_ODowd seizes the 1st. opportunity to bite back.
Well, would you not consider SF going into gov for term the best thing in the long run? There’s a bit of blood letting going on now and SF, or their older cohort more especially, are learning from it… until now they were largely locked away on the margins to shout ‘up the ra’ unchecked… so while you might see some minor hiccups at the start, a stint in gov, or retention of the popular vote at least, will right a lot of those wrongs in the long run…
I would mate. I wish they had a working majority, but I’m extremely mindful that on top of running the country day to day, they need to play to both sides of the border, and particularly to allay the fears of moderate protestants. I actually think they by and large did a great job, but they need to be clever, to run themselves openly and obviously without paramilitary oversight, and to play the medium term game. I think a border poll is very close to succeeding and I’d hate to see it threatened by loose lips or buffoonery. The stakes are simply too high.
The last time there was a border poll the nationalists boycotted it
yep
can you give me a day or two and we’ll roll into a discussion
The 1989 thread was a good basis for it - as it was the beginning of the end
