Watching Crimecall last night, marking 25 years since Fiona Pender disappeared.
You’d feel distraught for her brother John. Both parents now gone, the father died from suicide in 2000. Lost his brother the year before his sister went missing.

Some fucking eejit this fella and he only out a wet week for killing (manslaughter I think may have been the charge) his step son.

One of the most heartbreaking cases I know of in Irish history.
Aside from all the tragedy that came to the Pender family, Fiona was seven months pregnant. What kind of monster would do such a thing.

Is this a case of they pretty much know who was involved but there’s zero evidence to back it up…?
They said a few years back they had a suspect, but no evidence (i.e. no body).
They questioned her boyfriend and his family pretty extensively at the time but think that was a dead end
Hold on. Google tells me he moved to Canada.
And then Gardai went to Canada a few years ago
Yeah the cops have a great track record when they know who done it but don’t have evidence

Yes. Suspect is the usual suspect in such cases.
On news tonight that Gardai are commencing a search in Kildare tomorrow in relation to Deirdre Jacob
Assume they must be reasonably confident if they are announcing statement
Hopefully some small bit of closure for family
