Missing People In Ireland

THE FAMILY of a Co Leitrim woman who has been missing for five days has appealed for information to help find her.

Caitríona Horan (22), a law graduate of Trinity College Dublin, was last seen outside the gates of the college last Wednesday at 5.15pm.

She walked in the direction of Dame Street in Dublin city centre. A friend had been given the impression that she was going to visit her sister in Ashtown, Co Dublin.

She was living at home with her mother in Drumkeerin, Co Leitrim, and was not working.

She did not respond to texts or calls on Wednesday, but did turn her phone on Thursday morning to send a message to her mother requesting that people leave her alone.

She also withdrew some money from her bank account on Thursday somewhere in Dublin.

She has not been heard from since then.

Her sister Sinéad said the family were very concerned about her disappearance. There is no indication that she has left the State.

Sinéad said her sister was in a “fraught” state of mind when she disappeared and they were appealing to her or to anybody who knows where she is to come forward.

“Everybody just wants her home,” Sinéad said.

“We’re not annoyed with her. We love her very much. We’re clinging to the belief that she just wants to get away from people for a few days, but five days is too long.”

Caitríona plays traditional music on the flute. She was an active player with Comhaltas all around the west and was a regular session-goer.

When last seen she was wearing a dark grey single-breasted winter tweed-effect jacket, black tights or leggings and black boots.

She is 5ft 5in, slim, with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.

Terrible story.

Bit harsh farmer, he just told it as it was.

Indeed.

That Leitrim girl has been found. Not a bother on her apparently.

Any pictures of her to see if she was worth the hassle of a search?

There was a picture of her in the paper, not the worst.

Nice doll. I’d cheer her up.

Jugs probably had her locked in his room

Anyone know the story with this? Sounds like she was just a bit of an inconsiderate bitch but am I reading it wrong?

She’s just a small town girl…

:o
Listen mate, of anyone on here you’d be the most likely candidtate for having any extra knowledge on missing women in this country.
let it all out…

She’s from Leitrim, I can understand why she’d want to do anything to get out of there. That is all the insight I’d have Mick.

pity a few more letrim people wouldn’t go pernamently missing.
one no mark cunt in particular on here should definitly follow the gun, bottle of whiskey and dark room approach

Natural causes will take out Boxty in due course Mick, let nature do its work.

what particular traits does Joe Joe Dullard possess i wonder that has her so far ahead in this poll?

Easy after the event, but this was always going to have a happy ending. She was only gone for 4 or 5 days and had used her ATM to access cash. I’m going to wildly speculate that it was a mixture of boyfriend issues and the fact she’s a law graduate but can’t get work that’s caused her to have a bit of a meltdown. I’m sure with the help and support of family and friends she’ll be back playing the flute in no time.

i wonder do people like this have a tendency to reoffend?
back in the 90’s most missing women genuinely disappeared or so we were lead to believe due to perhaps been apprehended by someone form the GGA like Larry Murphy but nowadays women seem to be going missing by choice as in the case above.
i wonder what is the reason for this, i suppose the current econimic crisis would be responsible for quite a few of these
