Missing People In Ireland

So reading elsewhere the husband had gone missing in the 80s for a while as well. Certainly doesn’t sound normal which is what the locals describe them as.

they’d be nearly in their 90’s now

What is going on with this case?

Into the sea surely.

The Deely case is the most unusual for me. It was fairly bizarre, he was in jovial spirits that night, hadn’t much liquor on him etc either as he had actually called into the office shortly before for an umbrella and spoke to the security man there who said he was grand. He was seen on camera walking home. There was something about the route he took though. Was it not his normal one? They searched the canal totally and there was no sign of him.

Yeah he wasn’t going the most direct route home. There was weird stuff like him heading off to Alaska for a few days to meet some bird he had met briefly in Ireland a little bit previous to that.

There were a couple of guys seen on the CCTV footage of his last movements who never came forward. They could well have been plastered that night and not remembered where they had been the previous night,

That’s bizarre. Fascinating stuff all the same.

There are a heck of a lot of conspiracies involved in that case. An abuse victim of a corrupt establishment? The garda involvement here would suggest so. Especially bad considering it was a young child.

Apparently almost a year before another fella from Fermoy went missing. Well, 22 years later in 2012 they pulled his car and body out of the river.
So I suppose there is the chance they ended up at the bottom of the Blackwater.

Anyone familiar with the river down there. Would it be easy enough to accidentally drive into it? And is it deep enough that you’d go under and never be noticed?

possible Case of interference from a politician back in the 70’s.

I was reading about that last night.

All the below is my take on things and could obviously be complete bullshit.

The last sighting of Mary was from her Uncle who said he told her to go home and not cross a stream as he made his way to return a ladder to his neighbour. It appears that no one else can verify this account of events.

Surely that makes the Uncle a real person of interest.

Now we have her twin sister saying that she knows who was responsible and that person was known to Mary. I also saw a quote attributed to her which says she believes that Mary is buried on her grandfather’s land, which seems to be the real give away.

I’m assuming the uncle is a priest?

As far as I know it is a decent enough sized river there. @caoimhaoin might confirm

He might but then @Nembo_Kid will say it is in fact a rather large stream. About 200 posts later we will still be none the wiser.

Yes and dangerous in parts

that’s what I was thinking.

There was a priest link to a similar case of Bernadette Connolly in Colloney in Sligo in the early 70s.

Weird one

It doesn’t say in that piece, but presumably he had went missing beforehand? His family didn’t know where he went off to?

Seems there was no one looking for him from what I got from it.

They’ve been trying to identify him for while.
