A question on the case … how were the family so sure within a couple of hours that this was a serious missing person case and not a case of the boy wandering off for the afternoon?
His mum came home at 7 and that was when alarm bells went off as he was due back from school at 4.

I don’t know much about the case but Gemma O’Doherty is the journalist investigating it isn’t she? Has the motivation for the politician’s intervention ever been explained?
She seems to be daring someone to sue her so she can bring it out into the public domain
defamation is a dangerous game to play in Ireland, especially if your main source for your information is recanting
