Cops are trained to shoot at the largest mass, i.e. torso as shooting at arm’s & legs can result in a missed shot and a dead cop.

Surely they can track movement of car from his phone as that is what they used to locate him.

I drove past Cherrywood in the last 20 mins. There is a patrol car at the entrance stopping entry and a large number of guards and official vehicles were gathered in the car park.
Yeah a fella was shot dead there this evening. Linked to the lass that was abducted in Wicklow yesterday.

Irish Times has been all over the show on this one, sloppy inaccurate reporting. I saw that headline but there was no mention of it in the article.

No link between victim and Hennessy was reported yesterday but not sure what you can believe now.
In fairness, is there any media in Ireland that isn’t disgraced at this stage.

Sounds like the guy who was shot dead was only armed with a Stanley knife.
Every media outlet is falling over themselves to be the first to break something new, which in most cases is inaccurate. Journalistic standards are in the gutter.

There’s gonna be some sweep job from AGS on this. Fair play to them for finding him and putting themselves into harm’s way to capture him but it reads like someone got too trigger happy too soon.
