What part of Cork is she from? If she’s 24yrs old she’s not going to be that naive and also if she’s still in college it would seem she is familiar enough with the Glasgow area. I wonder did she know the chap she left with, seems to be likely to me
They mentioned Mallow on the radio this morning.
She’s probably from there so
From Mourne Abbey which would be the Cork city side of mallow
DB jumps in without knowing the full facts again
Her handbag has been found in a park. This is not going to end well, sadly.
they’ve just found her handbag in the park , not far from where she was last seen
it’s not looking good for her, hopefully we will hear better news asap
Wonder why she left your mans apartment at 4am? They have said he is not a suspect anyway.
Hmmmmm big call from them at this early stage, presumably they have footage of her walking away alone after she left his to confirm that or some such.
The fact this case was treated so seriously, so quickly would indicate the police might have a bit more information than what they are currently revealing. It was on the news less than 24 hours after she was reported missing. Doesn’t look good unfortunately.
Yeah, big call alright. Who knows what info the cops are holding…
But they stressed the man, seen with her on CCTV shortly before her disappearance, is not a suspect in the case.
He drove Karen to his apartment on Dorchester Avenue in Glasgow in his car after the pair left the Sanctuary nightclub at approximately 1am on Sunday morning.
According to the man – who is now helping the police with their enquiries – they “had consensual sex” in the flat.
Karen is then thought to have left after 4am and walked home, said Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr.
“We believe she got into a vehicle near church street and went to another location, leaving there after 4am.”
“She spent some time with the man from the CCTV footage. He says they had consensual sexual relations and she left.”
Police said they were keen to trace a grey/silver car seen in the area later that day.

He is not a suspect at the moment because their is no crime at the moment. They stressed that this is a missing person case but they have assigned a top ranked detective to lead the inquiry.
Thoughts and prayers go with her and to her family.
They seem to have a bit of info alright - not releasing the CCTV images of your man suggested they weren’t overly concerned with him, or they already knew who he was and what was happening.
“Det Supt Jim Kerr said police were gravely concerned that something may have happened to the young woman after she left the man’s house at 4am on Sunday.”
over to you @Sidney

There are a few obvious puns here but I won’t bother with them given the unfortunate nature of the case. I’m really decent like that.
My aunt actually married a Scotsman called Jim Kerr. He died in 1999 however so can be ruled out as a suspect here.
aye, the guy she was seen with on CCTV at the niteclub came forward so he seems genuine, very late for someone/anyone to be going home at 4am regardless of where you are, if she booked a taxi then the police can at least trace it for further info
He didn’t come forward. The cops tracked him down.
If this becomes a crime (hopefully not) then this guy may become a suspect. At the moment all they can do is ask him if he knows where she is. After that they can’t do a thing. I am sure they are tracking him and advising that he doesn’t leave town
