Season well under way at this stage. My beloved Yankees off to a flyer but the Tigers are the bookies firm favourites.
I watched the Rangers hammer the As this evening and I had a few bob on the Pirates to beat the Brewers last night.

Go Giants, woo hooooooooo!!!
The most magical month of the year is upon us so time to resurrect the thread. Action kicking off tonight after the wild card series which I have yet to warm to. AJ Burnett pummelled early by the cards, really looking forward to watching the Los Angeles Dodgers of Los Angeles embarking on what I predict will be a successful playoff run in half an hour behind ace and cy young favourite Clayton Kershaw. In the AL the Red Sox look to strong for everyone but after a trip to the o.co coliseum this summer gone ill be throwing my support behind my AL team, the A’s as we host miggy and the tigers starting tomorrow. Anyone care to post opinions or musings? Anyone?
Meh…baseball…yawn.
Just my opinion.

The play offs are different. I’ll never forget coming back from 0-3 and beating the evil empire in 2004.
As predicted by tfk staff baseball writer, me, dodgers quitened the moronically chanting braves fans with a gem from one of the worlds best hurlers clayton kershaw last night. The action keeps on coming tonight with a vital game for the bucs to keep their hopes alive followed by irelands team the red sox up against the rays as managers farrell and maddon face off. So if your looking for edge of the seat entertainment dont go to the cinema to see prisoners become a prisoner on the couch.
Sox lead series 1-0.
Red Sox 2-0 up now and seem to have too much hitting for the rays. What a difference a year and change of manager makes. This is the only one sided series however as the other 3 are locked at 1-1 following a walk off a’s win after a rip roaring pitchers duel between verlander and new kid on the Bay Area block, sonny gray. The NL action heats up tonight as the buccos welcome the redbirds and those wankers the braves head west to Chavez ravine to experience dodger dogs and abuse from drunk Latinos and movie stars alike. A recommended diversion after redzone when insomnia has you in it’s icy grip.
Red Sox win 3-1 and await the winners of Detriot and Oakland, who are tied at 2-2, in the ALCS.
Into the championship series tonight, semi finals stage to the uninitiated, the cardinals and dodgers face off, both teams and fan bases have a strong dislike of each other which should spice things up. In the al which starts tomorrow the sox face a detroit team who struggled past the As relying on justin verlander finding exceptional form again over the last month, and giving up no earned runs in his two starts in the series. My call of a sox v dodgers world series is still on, but the cardinals are sticky hoors who just know how to win.
Unbelievable fightback by my beloved Red Sox to tie the series last night. Ortiz with a Grand Slam home run late on and then the lad whose name I can’t spell with the walk-off single to win.
The Red Sox march onto the World Series.
A 5-2 victory overnight to win the series against Detroit Tigers 4-2.
A sporting franchise that Boston can be proud of, like the Celtics.

A wonderful night… The Tigers pitching was great this whole series but this is Boston, we own this fucking city!

Watched the rerun this morning. Edgy game, grand slam home run was class to win it. That Japanese closer is some pitcher.
Presume you’re referring to the Irish lad O’Hara. But he’s immense alright, pal.
A procession for the Red Sox in game 1 of the World Series.
8-1 victory and never in doubt. Time for a pre work power nap now.

Game 3 of the World Series about to start on BT Sport 1. The first 2 games in Boston were shared. Excellent rendition of our anthem by Grammy award winning artist Colbie Caillat.
Christ, disastrous start for Jake Peavy. I reckon former friend of the forum Tadhg Peavoy could pitch better than this.
I presume the St. Louis Cardinals have links to the Roman Catholic church?
Red hats > red socks.
