More GAA Shame

Other counties should do likewise

Not in Dublin though.

Myself, @Funtime and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy plan on landing a touch.

The 2 lads soften their stance on GAA when there is a few quid to be made

That’ll sort it alright

Jack must be back

Surely all games across the country will go too?

This is a one off chance for refs everywhere to take a stand - I don’t think anyone would say a word if they did.

I’d say he is.

We are looking towards west and south Dublin this weekend.

Prices have collapsed in recent days so not sure which of them has sung like a canary

Good man … That would have sorted everything alright …

I doubt they will. If it was seen in a few weeks that the Roscommon CCC fudged the issue then there might be some motivation and coordination for an all out strike.

how much abuse are refs getting, not violence now but you know yourself, the bullshit from the sidelines in general?

How many fish would still be alive if they’d learned to keep their mouths shut.

All games need to go this weekend countrywide.

A stand needs to be made

Laois have called off all games this weekend

Imagine if they did call off games.

There’d be a lot of lads frantically trying to retrieve Electric Picnic tickets they’d recently sold.

Surely next weekend is the weekend that GAA people would want games called off given that Garth Brooks is playing?

Isn’t that why Laois called off games in the first place?

Games need to be called off. This is the biggest threat to the association since its founding.

He didn’t end up in a car boot, so I guess we could call that progress of sorts?

This sort of ‘Referee revolt’ is a long time coming down the tracks. And all power to them. Reminiscent of the problem with parish priests 10 years ago. We just have enough ref’s now but in 5/10 years there won’t be. Other than a young man being in severe debt to his drug dealer, why would you do it?

Obviously the cultural of how they are spoken to etc. referees has to change and that’s to everyone involved in Gaa from the Under 6s to Adult level. But the GAA need to start punishing those in the wrong severely even for the most minor of incidents for there to be any sort of major change in the short term.

Maybe if 76.6% of them weren’t dopes it would help too.
