More GAA Shame

An organisation the size of the Gaa, you’re going to always attract a fair quantity of knuckleheads. And like any party I’ve attended, it only takes one cunt to ruin it for the rest of us.

I meant the Refs

Trouble is that the running stress of getting abuse over marginal calls, which a ref is bound to get wrong some of the time, means the pressure builds on the ref, and a major error is more likely.

:joy:

I still stick by my point. No refs, there are no games.

If they were treated with a bit more respect by Joe Soap on the sideline I’d like to think the calibre of person who would become a ref would be vastly improved.

Mistakes are always going to happen. Especially in hurling given the speed of the game and the confusion of almost everyone on how a defender can tackle.

I recall a few incidents in the hurling championship this year where even watching a slow-mo replay I wasn’t quite sure what the correct decision was.

A good few.
As a rule of thumb they went against Galway or in favour of Limerick or Cark they were wrong.

I see the rĂŠiteĂłir in question is from the club of @RedHandHuns .
A popular and well experienced whistler - he’ll have your man’s house and farm before this is over.

Maybe if we stopped beating them up it would attract more people who weren’t apes/attention seekers.

But you have to respect the traditions of the game too. Terrible refs, blind umpires, sidelines going apocalyptic, it’s what the game was built on.

Not sure that’s helping mate

Is there more than one clip of this incident?
The one I seen the actual contact on the ref is not shown. My sources locally say the contact on the ref was only a shove** and it was the manner of his fall that caused injury.

**Im not excusing or condoning any of this at all.
In fact I am with some of ye in that I thought a national strike from refs would and should happen.

Hup Lucan

@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy and @Funtime will go one of two ways.

Celebrate their 29/1 treble winnings or call out the rigging of Dublin club matches.

It will be fascinating to watch

JP makes sure that most 50/50s go our way, and that is just something that the rest of the hurling fraternity will just have to come to accept.

They’re after closing my cat’s Boylesports account.

It’s a disgrace that the cat is being punished in this way

Has there been charges pressed outside the Association?
