More GGA shame part 15234322435676544

One of the worst parents I’ve seen on the sideline over the years was a school principal who had a son playing all the way through underage.

I couldn’t fathom how someone charged with managing the education of children could be so clueless when it came to his own.

Clongeen?

God no.

St. James’s?

Why wasn’t he named?

He was. Alan Coyne. St Brigids. Never heard of him

Probably a country lad

Should dubliners be electronically tagged on leaving the pale

Alan Coyne, 44, used to play for Brigids and is now a recovering heroin addict. Not sure if the two things are connected. I never heard of the chap and I would have played against Brigids a good few times when this chap might have been in his prime. Supposed to have graced Croke Park numerous times. Could be a Fagan ODowd type character who got a run in the county jersey once upon a time and had dined out on it ever since.

Most likely. Dublin lads don’t generally go in for that sort of thing.

A right fucking scobe - think he might have been on an u16 or minor panel.

You might remember his parents getting evicted a few years in a ‘hard luck’ story
