Most underrated movie ever

Day of the Jackal
The Odessa File
both tense and fast moving thrillers with excellent endings

The French Connection II - not quite as good as the original but close enough

forgot about the odessa file…john voights finest work…

Cross of Iron.

Best war movie of them all.

It’s good but what’s the definitive version?

I saw it on TV first - the mini series. Then a film version, then a longer film version …

well it’s movies so the full cut film would be the one

alarm, alarm !!!

The dubbed TV version of Das Boot was truly dire.

The directors cut is what I have. So atmospheric.

Those boys did NOT like Gibralter…

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is very witty and very good.
Think that other film was Red Rock West. Plot might have been similar but the main character would have been a lot more sympathetic than in U Turn.
My fave under rated film would be Open Range.
But I love westerns anyway.
Super fucking shout.

Tombstone
And how Val Kilmer didn’t get an oscar nomination for Doc Halliday is worth a thread all on its own

TinCup, Harley Davidson & the Marlboro Man are another two favourites of mine that were panned; but a reviewer pal said the latter was a better tv movie than a big screen one.

Also, although there may be an element of self interest of a carnal nature with these; Oceans 11, 12 & 13. Love 'em, great characters, but also, great “non writing” especially Rusty.

In The Line of Fire now on Sky Modern.

Glengarry Glen Ross - Unreal cast too.
Three burials - A gem.
Cable Guy - A classic imho.

Intermission

A quality film thats very under-rated.

I see Nil by Mouth is on Film4 tonight at 10.50 pm…think it’s a brilliant film even if its fairly fcukin depressing…talk about being a product of the environment your raised in…

Man I hated nil by mouth.

its gritty alright and quite a harrowing tale…but you have to admit its brilliantly made and definitely makes an impact…

Yea fair enough, but just because a guy tears my pubes out expertly, doesnt mean I’ll enjoy it.

Lord of War
Presumed Innocent (on last night)
Glengarry, Glenross. Play is way better, but still great movie (ABC)
Goodfellas. Always in the shadow of more high profile gangster movies.

Stir of Echoes earlier was a good shout.

Man About Dog.

Just remember it there thanks to the coursing thread, some funny parts in it
