Theres a serious case for revising the driving test or having a more advanced version for people coming off N plates, thst everyone should take when renewing their liecence. Particularly for motorway driving. You can add in anyone that gets 7 or more penalty points also

What’s the reasoning behind the length of time that the railway crossings close before a DART train comes along? The ones around Dublin 4 anyway close for up to 5 minutes before a train comes along. This causes more people to take chances at these crossings because they know they’re in for a 5 minute delay.

We drove from Waterford to Limerick and back today for a funeral. Son of a first cousin of my missus, chap in his early 20’s killed in a single vehicle road traffic accident, early on Monday morning. Awful tragedy, speed wasn’t a factor.
That Waterford to Limerick road is a national disgrace. There were any number of incidents I observed that could have been catastrophic. Slow driving and agricultural vehicles hogging the road and not pulling in is in my book as big a problem as speeding.
What really capped off the day was on the way home, on the road around Clonmel as we were coming in from Cahir side, we get stuck behind some tractor monstrosity with a crane loaded on a trailer. He was veering over the middle line of the road. We were about 8 cars back. He drove the whole way to Carrick-on-Suir, took nearly 45 minutes to do it. Not a chance of the clown pulling in to let a stream of cars tailing back to pass. Not many places to pass on that stretch but in the few places there was, observed two very close near misses as two cars took a chance to get past him.

His mother was my french teacher, a lovely woman. Experienced a very similar situation in my own family, just an awful tragedy.

If you heard the joint eulogy both the mother and father gave today after Communion. I never heard the like of it. You should have a look at it. Lovely family and as tough a funeral as I was ever at.

First off, sorry for yer loss, mate.
You’re spot on though re slow driving. People who drive at 60km per hour on those national primary roads are actually as dangerous as cunts who speed dangerously and constantly overtake near dangerous bends etc.
The standard of driver in this country is definitely getting worse. In general the lads in the tractors do pull into the hard shoulder in fairness though.

Something that really annoys me is people who can’t maintain speed and keep braking constantly for no reason. All you have to do is keep a reasonable distance from the car ahead.
Nothing more irritating than a cunt braking constantly in front of you for no reason.
Not as much a motorway problem but it does happen there too.
