€2.00 to get from Dublin to Limerick is great auld value really. The French are after stinging me for €9.40 here for an hours driving. Saw me coming a mile (1.609344 kilomètres) off.
Friends of ours were right behind this when it happened as it turns out. The 2 motorcycles clipped wheels and went in under the truck. Never stood a chance. Awful stuff
I was driving back up the M7 from Limerick to Kildare that day. Saw 2 lads on motorbikes travelling together a few times on the journey up. I’d say it was them based on timings of when they would have landed on to the M50. RIP
Best part of 5 (five) hours to get from the peninsula to Dunmore this evening. Had to drop the niece to the airport. When I was getting on the m50 after dropping her off traffic was backed up on the on ramp. Inched to Ballymun in half an hour. Sign said 84 (84) minutes to junction 6 and 102 (102) minutes to junction 7. I’ve found that these signs are usually accurate. So I went off at Ballymun thinking I’d take the NCR to the Palmerston M50 junction. But then NCR was backed up to Phibsboro and traffic going every way to get off it. Church St the next option was backed up to McGowans. Eventually headed for the Grand Canal and while there was a sizable delay at Harold’s Cross it was otherwise grand. Got to the N7 and again traffic was backed up on the on ramp. Inched all the way to Kill and then it freed up a bit.
The dogs were very good in the back. Only a tiny bit of sick.
You made a fatal error after travelling to Harold’s Cross of not cutting back out through Tallaght. Down to Blessington and joining up onto the Motorway in Kilcullen again.
Surprised at you
I was worn out to be honest harry at that stage. I was two hours in the car at that stage and was only as far as Harold’s Cross. Plus listening to the news there were hold ups everywhere.
Cruise Control is for deserted desert highways. You can’t use it continually for normal motorway driving . It’s actually dangerous. If you approach a slower moving vehicle in front you risk crashing if you don’t de-activate it in time.
Adaptive cruise control is the game changer once you learn to trust it. Radar picks up cars in front of you and automatically slows the car to a safe distance. Pull out and it speeds up to the set speed again.
