I use a road daily that has a 50kmh limit. No housing nearby, good road. Was there not some announcement a few years ago that discretion can be used on certain roads? I know they meant that the speed limit isn’t a target but equally good roads shouldn’t have stupid limits.

Spot on.
Complains that he pulled to the outer lane to allow for traffic merging from the cork road and followed the pace in front.
I pass that stretch 15-20 times a week and am very wary of it.

Waze was a great app for this. I had it during Covid but never downloaded it again after switching phones. Installing it right now.
Anyone using it atm? Still decent accuracy wise for speed vans / checkpoints?

Still use it and has been spot-on on a good few occasions where it proved its worth.

Its a speed limit not a speed target, the discretion is whether you should risk your life by driving close to the limit
On motorways generally it was good. Even for things like bits of debris on the road, or cars pulled into the hard shoulder, the alerts would be reasonably accurate. They are based on user submissions though so the less traffic on the road, the less useful it will be.

On my last 2 Hondas the speedo was purposely inaccurate by 3/4 Kilometers per hour
