Presumably they’ll change the 100km signs down to 80 before changing the speed limit?
It’s a nuisance on the Galway clifden road now. Nobody knows the speed limit so everyone does 65.
It’s to flush out uninsured drivers apparently. They were talking about on Morning Ireland earlier. I think they said one in twelve drivers isn’t insured which is ridiculous. Sure a Gardai checkpoint at a busy time must be able to catch loads of them if there are that many.
In tanland you now just get a fine through the post for having a vehicle registered to you which is uninsured if it isn’t SORNed. It’s a pain in the bolox, especially as auto renewal is a swindle of the very highest order, but there you go.
