Munster, celtic league, heineken cup, general and tag rugby thread 🐐

Brent Pope said a few weeks ago that of O’Brien was from New Zealand or Austalia that he would have been converted into a hooker at the age of 17/18…he certainly has the phyique and power that would be for it…

Eh its in the sentence above…they weren’t playing you fool!

Clermomt V Leicster in the snow has potential to be an absoluet cracker here…

Yeah could be good alright. Backed Clermont -5 there, think they look sharp enough.

Backed them at 1\2 to win…Lovely try there…

Nalanga is almost unstoppable when he works up a head of steam up…poor defending all the same…your buddy didn’t cover himself in glory rocko…

Nah shocking effort.

Funny sort of guy. Think he lost a hell of a lot of drive for the game when he wasn’t picked at the last World Cup for the France game - ludicrously at the time. He was on form and he’d have had no problems dropping a goal. Doesn’t seem the same player since but he’s always been clear that he wants to go back to NZ for the next World Cup - he’s in England for the money only. And he’s played like that since he’s been there to be honest.

Penalties keeping Leicster in this. They’ve been thoroughly outplayed othewise but it’s by no means over.

He has been very average most times I have seen him for leicester, like a man going through the motions…

I don’t think he realised the influence I was on his career until I retired from rugby. He looks lost now withuot my guidance.

God help Bandage when you retire from the astro soccer!!

Clermont walking through leicester…Hopefully they make the kockout stages this year as they play decent rugby and the likes of bonnaire, ledesma, malzieu and brock james are real classy ā€œfootballersā€

Very good result yesterday and excellent performance for 60 minutes anyway. Thought management got in spot on and made changes when they were needed to keep tempo up. Next weeks game is simply huge now. A win there and we’d have superb chance of qualifying. Tough tough task mind
Schifcoske 7- Looked assured as ever. Secures possession well. Mr Consistent
Trimble 8- Great hunger to his game and made yards when it wasn’t easy to do so. Looked very sharp
Cave 6- What he did he did well but didn’t make any real breaks
Whitten 6-Like Cave didn’t do much. This centre partnership worked very well at start of year but we miss Wallace’s superb passing ability
Danielli 8- Took his try well and worked well overall. Should keep his place now
Humps 8.5- Simply superb 60 minutes and if I’m being honest didn’t think he was capable of such a performance. Ran it very well and his game management skills were excellent. Think he thought his job was done a little early would be my only real criticism. Despite landing place kicks I still worry over them though
Boass 8- Another very good performance. Playing best rugby of his career. Should be in ahead of O’Leary for Ireland
Henry 9- Awesome display. Was everywhere. Would have liked us to have balls to have gone for touch with penalties and go for tries more in second half to get bonus point but perhaps I’m being greedy
Pollock 5- Didn’t do enough for me. Would like to see Faloon return
Ferris 8- Was everywhere. Best performance of his season
O’Donoghue 8- Excellent in lineout and justified selection
Tuohy 7- Not as prominent as O’Donoghue but worked well
Fitzpatrick 4- Struggeled in scrum and penalised repeatedly. Not good enough though hopefully will improve
Brady 7- Reasonably good in lineout after shambles against Glasgow so has to get credit for improvement with his selection. Good around the park. Developing really well.
Court 6- Solid in scrum. Didn’t appear to do much though

Morgan Parra has been very impressive today and gets the try to seal the bonus point win…

Cracking finsih there, comedy of errors…Clermont just stopped playing for the last 15 and could well have grabbed a bonus point

Fucking hell, what an ending that was! Clermont and Alan Lewis gave it everything they had to try and get Leicester a couple of bonus points, just wasn’t to be.

Bath beating Edinburgh looks a good result for Ulster.

What would you make of Ulster’s chances in Paris next weekend, larry…Only saw bits and pieces of it but there seemed to be a bit of niggle in it, will there be a backlash from Stade?

Some finish to it, Edinburgh nearly scored a try in jury time, bath turned the ball over on their own try line and their scrum half threw the ball directly out of play, Alan Rowland awarded Edinburgh a penalty and Edinburgh had another couple of chances before Bath won a penalty to lift the siege and win it…

Was a lot of niggle and might be biased but all dirty stuff was coming from them and the gouging in particular was pretty outrageous. If performance levels are same I’d give us good chance. Hugely important we get off to a good start as we haven’t had big result at business end of H Cup for too long now so won’t be used to being in this position. Botha coming back would be massive bonus though would say its an outside chance. Worry about our scrum next week without him

Oh right. Didn’t see it myself as don’t have $ky up here. Think we are safe in knowledge that if we win next week we have a superb chance with Edinburgh at home and Bath away. Capable of winning both.

Yeah from the bits I saw Stade looked very much like the aggressors, they didn’t seem to handle the conditions or the atmosphere too well…Their loose head prop(roncero??) spent the day mouthing and acting the maggot, he was constantly bitching to the ref, surprised the ref took no action
