Munster, celtic league, heineken cup, general and tag rugby thread 🐐

I guess they’ll be telling their grandchildren about the time their touring reserve side narrowly defeated a provincial reserve team alright.
watched back over the match this afternoon and hook said that leinster wouldn’t compete as they don’t have the heart and in fairness without all the point scoring on this thread in all honesty they don’t…how many times have they flattered to deceive or bottled it, granted at times they have turned in some excellent performances but more often than not when it comes down to it they bottle it…

It wasn’t a practice match either…they are normally played at low key venues with 3 men and a dog at them
it was a practicse match for NZ 2nds

Let it go bandage

no like i said, practice matches in rugby are either played at low key venues or behind closed doors…an exibition match you could call it all right…By your above statement so ncc the new zealand and scotland test match the weekend before last was a practice match also…

they kept going on about the thomand atmosphere too -anytime it went to the crowd it dimwit pukey type characters laughing cause the camera was on them, birds & old blokes in sheepskin jackets - not exactly the demographic for a deadly atmosphere, every now & again thy would sing a connaught song -

it was a friendly

challenge game, whatever the Munster hype want to call it to try give it some value.

I seem to recall a certain Munster no.10 who has bottled his fair share of oppertunities. as well as losing 2 finals and 3 semi finals. no doubting Leinster have flattered to deceive, but would hardly use Munster as a bench mark

regardless of what GMan thinks Im quite sure Leinster and the IRFU do use Munster as the benchmark.

all three semi finals we were very unlucky in, i wouldn’t say we bottled them, munster died with their boots on in all three, margins very close in each of them…as for the two finals you could say they bottled the final against northhampton but against leicster they were beaten by a better team on the day, it wasn’t a case of them bottling it…

you obviously weren’t there so…

Before a lineout near the end some of the Munster players were imploring the crowd for more noise, lifting their hands up and demanding some volume etc seeing as the crowd were strangely quiet. Maybe their lack of support at the time was because they recognised it was a meaningless friendly. But it appears they’re now trying to rewrite history so it’s quite confusing. Another possibility is that they used up their entire quota of six ‘Munster, Munster’ chants and three ‘Fields of Athenry’ choruses over the previous eighty minutes and had nothing left to give? I’d say most of those old dears at the game were completely hoarse by the end of the joint lap of honour.

You obviously were so…

dont get me started…!!!

in what regard Dan?.. up to this year Leinster have always played rugby that is a lot easier on the eye than Munster…If anything would Munster this season have moved a bit more in line with how Leinster play?

15 years ago there wasnt that much pride about what province you came from, now you have crap like that flag, the corporate creation has its lemming im afraid

how old is that saying too.probaly dates back to the 50’s

crowds are higher in leinster too- munster have only won 1 more heineken cup than ulster but the way they go on you think they are the greatest thing ever
